Artist
Richard T Pranke
Medium
Painting - Oil On Canvas
Description
Original Daily Painting by Richard T. Pranke
This scene depicts the last days of Griffintown Montreal.
Named after Mary Griffen who leased and parceled the land in 1799.
First populated by Irish immigrants between 1820 to 1960,after which most is torn down today.
I found a black and white photo dated 1965 and brought Griffen town back to life in color.
